Estimates on the annual cost of illegal immigration vary. FAIR estimated federal expenditures on illegal aliens in 2023 at nearly $66.5 billion, including medical and welfare benefits. FAIR also estimated the overall annual cost of "illegal immigration" (including education and welfare) for 2023 at least $151 billion.
DOGE estimated American taxpayers spent over $150 billion on immigrants in the U.S. illegally in 2023.
CIS suggested a potential cost of $3 billion per year in welfare benefits for 1.1 million illegal aliens granted parole by the Biden administration between January 2021 and February 2023. CIS also projected up to $451 billion in taxpayer costs for immigrants released from the border.
The House Committee on Homeland Security estimated annual costs of the southern border crisis at approximately $451 billion per year, including healthcare, law enforcement, education, and housing.
CBO estimated increased Medicaid-funded emergency services for illegal immigrants under the Biden-Harris administration cost federal and state taxpayers over $16.2 billion. They also estimated that by FY 2034, outlays for benefits to a surge population of immigrants and their children would total $177 billion.

To that government money lavished on illegal aliens it's imperative to list the other money, aside from that government money, that we Americans are forced to shell out of our own pockets because of the presence of illegal aliens:
ReplyDelete- illegal aliens drive up our health insurance premiums, illegals swarm our emergency rooms and if they can't pay for treatment and Medicaid doesn't cover their bills, those costs get lumped into our health insurance costs
- illegal aliens mere presence in their multi-millions drives up rents and the cost of real estate: the demand that illegals raise for housing burdens us with ballooning rent and real estate outlays; plus illegal aliens force urban and suburban sprawl that devours our natural environment
- illegal alien drivers, many of them uninsured, jack up our car insurance premiums
- the 40 million-plus illegal aliens consume energy, which increases demand for oil, gas, natural gas, coal, and electricity, thereby driving up our energy bills and putting ever increasing pressure on energy producers to build new plants, to wire new grids; the mass of illegals also puts massive load on our domestic supply of water
- illegal aliens put massive downward pressure on Americans' wages, and so do legal H1-B and other foreigners (look up the OPT program!) load enormous downward pressure on Americans' wages - plus, foreign workers prevent Americans from having employer-subsidized health, dental, vision insurance, and deprive American workers of the ability to build IRAs and to save money for retirement and for other expenses such as saving for American children's college tuition, &c.
On ships borders are repelled with shot and shell. Discuss.
