According to this website, a study published in July 2024 investigated how often 1,425 people went number two, and compared those stats to their demographic, genetic, and health data. Pooping too often or too rarely were both associated with different underlying health issues, while the healthiest participants reported pooping once or twice a day – a 'Goldilocks zone' of bowel movement frequency.
"This study shows how bowel movement frequency can influence all body systems, and how aberrant bowel movement frequency may be an important risk factor in the development of chronic diseases," says University of Washington microbiologist Sean Gibbons, the corresponding author of the report.

The long-standing rule that forced millions of travelers to remove their shoes at airport checkpoints is being phased out. Federal officials say the change marks the start of the “golden age” for American travel. Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security Secretary, believes it will help cut wait times while at security checkpoints.
She believes the rule change will help modernize traveler’s experiences. The rule was brought in for security purposes, but Noem believes standards can be still be upheld. "Thanks to our cutting-edge technological advancements and multi-layered security approach, we are confident we can implement this change while maintaining the highest security standards,” she said.
I have always thought of this as an exercise in stupidity. Did you know that people over 75 don't have to take their shoes off? You can imagine the reasons for that exemption...

If you failed to take note of the phrase 'aberrant bowel movement frequency' above, maybe you need to pay more attention to what you're reading. That is spectacular...
Never in my life have I been able to craft a statement
that included a phrase like that. I am seriously jealous.

The criminal referral involving Brennan was passed to the FBI by current CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Justice Department sources told Fox News Digital. According to this report, the investigation into the Obama-era spy chief involves allegations that he made false statements to Congress and is currently underway.
DOJ sources described the FBI’s view of the role Comey and Brennan played during the investigation of claims that President Trump’s 2016 campaign was colluding with Russia as a “conspiracy.” The investigation into Brennan comes a week after the CIA released a “lessons-learned review” of the Obama administration’s spy agencies’ assessment that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election to help Trump.

Have you ever tried one of these?
We got turned on to these by my Brother TJ probably 20 years ago while we were at his house in Belfast. Over in Ireland, they have a 'wee cuppa' - how they say 'tea' - three or four or more times a day. Anyway, we have one in our kitchen and it's great for a coupla reasons. First and foremost, Babs and I are tea drinkers, so there's that. The other thing is, if you fill this thing full and turn it on, it gets the water to baoil in about a minute. Use that watert to start your pasta in, and you're eating easily 15 minutes sooner. Juss' sayin' - I like it. Click on the picture and get one for yourself.

Omar's daughter, how does one graduate when suspended from college? Money talks I guess.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if she has a brother to marry like her mom did?
DeleteTSA is a joke. I walked through a checkpoint with my pocket knife in my pocket. On the return trip I had it in my carry on luggage in Boston.
ReplyDeleteApproval granted... please!
ReplyDeleteI had that exact electric kettle some time ago. I got it after my first trip to London when I had one in the hotel room and thought why TF don't I have one of these? It's the thing if you are a tea drinker but the uses are endless.
ReplyDeleteEthanol boils at 78C, or 173 F. It has a significant vapor pressure below that. Most cooking surfaces are in the 300F + range (that is, a skillet, not the food). Typically, food hits 150 F or higher at the end of cooking. Yes, there is probably a trace of ethanol left but 85%? Not bloody likely. As far as the boiling water statement goes, BS. No significant amount remains after a minute or two in boiling water (the ethanol boils off preferentially with the water, as the "95"% azeotrope. Can modern analytical methods detect some ethanol in the food? Yes. Is there a significant amount? No. Unless the booze is added immediately before serving, and even then it probably cooks off to at most a few percent of the amount added within minutes. Chemists call this fractional distillation: the lowest boiling component -here, ethanol - goes first. Totally misleading poster, simply ignores the physics and chemistry involved by conflating analytically detectable levels with physiologically active quantities.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this cogent explanation. So much BS is reinforced by unquestioning repetition, such as this old saw. Wine in your salad dressing retains alcohol. Your Beef bourguignon? Nope.
DeleteJoe posts a lot crap, I doubt you explaining things will change his mind, science is BS to these folks.
DeleteI'm going to make her our every Wednesday morning mascot. With your approval, of course...
ReplyDeleteApproved.
So is Ilhan Omar's daughter the result of her "marriage" to her brother? Incest causes decreased IQ.
ReplyDeleteNo shoes at airport only if you have real id and are pre-screened.
ReplyDeleteBrennan Clapper and the rest of the 50 "intelligence" scum who were in on the framing of DJT need to do serious prison time.
ReplyDeleteTwo things Joe.. One: She could be on every day and twice on Sunday. Two: You sure have been "double keying" when you type lately, not that I care, cuz I can read 'Merican! Keep up the great work!

I approve of Wed morning mascot. Make that your daily header and watch your numbers go up. And change your name to "The View from Alligator Alcatraz" or "An Alligators Point of View" or "Alligators Have to Eat Too" and watch them go up even more.
ReplyDeleteIn my neighborhood there were 4 gas stations at the intersection and 2 more a block up the street. Gas wars all the time. Texico, Shell, Richfield, one independent, can't remember the others. Got free dishes and plant seeds plus green stamps and full service.
ReplyDeleteBill Gates should be force fed plant meat 3 times a day for a year, then dissected to see how it affects the human(?) body.
ReplyDeleteNew website name name "I Can See Alligator Alcatraz From My Front Porch"
ReplyDeleteHad the classic Rowenta kettle while I lived in the UK & Germany all through the 80’s & early 90’s. Bought it in 82 and left it with my ex’s folks when we PCS’d back to the states in 93. Woulda brought it back but it was 220 volt. Used it for everything if I needed a bit of hot water; it’d boil in about 3 minutes. The water heater tanks were run off a switch instead of a thermostat, so you had to anticipate needing hot water about 3 hours before you actually used it. They were ungodly expensive to run and my electric was coin operated like an old parking meter.
ReplyDeleteDo you really believe American citizens are not going to lose their healthcare and it's only limited to non-citizen? You'll find the poorest of Americans (yes citizens) in red states and they are going to bear the brunt of it unfortunately, I feel for them.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry; Ilhan's daughter will have a "jo)" in Mom's office after Labor Day. (Taking the summer off to celebrate "graduating" from college yannow."
