One of the biggest reason why I enjoy Brit tabloids is because they will cover stories no other - dare I say - 'reputable' news source will take this one for example. The US Sun reported yesterday about the 'love doll' industry in China. According to their article, the Chicoms are pumping out hoards of futuristic AI-powered "love dolls" at $3,000 a pop - and up - for 'lonely men'. The sex dolls have become creepily realistic - and China's robot factories are at the centre of the revolution.
I don't need to go further in to this topic, but if you want, the rest of the article is here. Know what the very first thought I had was when I saw the banner headline? Well, actually the first was thinking how fuckin'creepy the whole concept is.

Horrible economic environment in which to raise children, horrible women created by government-run schools and horrible culture, etc creates an environment in which men would rather pay $3000+ for the company of silicone over the alternative. Not endorsing it, but much like heavy drug use in society, this too is a SYMPTOM of a bigger problem nobody wants to face.

It started with Steely Dan for the ladies, made its way up to vibrators mostly (but not exclusively) for the ladies and now the electro/mechanical sex aid is in female form and, I gather function. Once again, there is a version for the ladies but I assume it’s not nearly so complex.
