An interesting European take on the shooting at Butler one year ago today...

It's a rare ocassion when a lib news source like TheGuardian.com attempts to reach middle ground on an issue, but in this case they do - sorta. 'Sunday marks one year since the assassination attempt on Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and a week that changed US politics. Eight days later then-president Joe Biden, 81, dropped out of the election race amid concerns over his mental and physical decline.
The twin shocks to the system of July 2024 continue to echo. Trump’s supporters hailed his survival as proof of divine intervention. He declared in his inaugural address in January: “I was saved by God to make America great again.” He has governed with a zealous self-belief that earns comparisons with authoritarians from history.'

It's a rather long, rather surprising (at least for them) non-partisan, objective look at how the election was changed so dramatically on that day. Maybe save it for reading later. You'll be pleasantly surprised...

  1. When the left does it it's democracy but when Trump does it it's "authoritarian."

    1. That is my take on it. It's okay for the left to team up with Big Tech and censor the opposition. It's okay for the left to arrest the opposition. It's okay for the left to burn cities. It's okay for the left to imprison the opposition without trial. But it's the right that are the authoritarians. No wonder liberals need to see the shrink. It must make your head hurt to constantly think that way.
