Retrospect is a bitch, isn't it? How many hundreds of thousands of people - some of whom you may know - spent the other day sissy-Mary protesting who knows what on that ridiculous 'No Kings Day'?
What did it prove? What did it accomplish? Zip and Zero. The funniest one I saw was here in The Villages (America's friendliest home town') where the developers waited for all of the 'protest-ants' to assemble on one of the sides of one of the major thoroughfares here, and then had all of the sprinklers turned on simulataneously. The sprinklers then flooded the street, and passing cars would splash the idiots on the sides of the road.
Well played. guys. Well played, indeed...

In a wide-reaching interview with The New York Times published Wednesday (June 18), the rock star criticized everything from the politician’s leadership to his effect on the social fabric of the United States. Springsteen is currently on his Land of Hope & Dreams Tour, on which he performs a setlist every night that he says “addresses our current situation” under Trump’s administration.
And how would Springsteen describe the current situation? “It’s an American tragedy,” he told the publication. “I think that it was the combination of the deindustrialization of the country and then the incredible increase in wealth disparity that left so many people behind*. It was ripe for a demagogue. And while I can’t believe it was this moron that came along, he fit the bill for some people.”
Interesting that he's spewing all this fuckin' garbage while he's out performing outside of the country, huh?
*Is this the same guy who sold his music rights to Sony Music in a deal reportedly worth $500 million. This includes both his master recordings and music publishing rights. ? THAT "wealth disparity'?

I only bring this up because it dislodged a memory I haven't given any thought to in decades. I went to an all-boys Catholic High School in Newark, NJ. Don't laugh - my freshman year there were 3,200 students in all four grade-years of the school - the fucker was HUGE.
Anway, the school actually did have a smoking room for students on the fifth floor. It was 'seniors only' and the funny thing is, they did away with it the year after I graduated...

Similar to the ones I bought last week, but these are on sale today
for only $ 28.09 (57% off). I paid $45.00 for mine.

If Trump were the king the Lefties have been told to say he is, every one of them would have an appointment with Madame La Guillotine.
ReplyDeleteOr an expense-paid boxcar trip to Dachau-On-The-Brazos.
As a native Texan, I get that reference!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was stationed at Offutt AFB outside of Omaha back in the '80s, they had E4-Bs based there. Probably still do. During their annual airshows, they'd have one do low-level fly-bys and emergency braking demonstrations.
ReplyDeleteWRT Bruce Springsteen, someone who is worse is Steve Earle. I do like his older music, but I saw him in concert a few years ago, and it was full of ranting about Trump. He opened for Dwight Yoakam, and Dwight was great. No politics from him at all.
Pete T: You're right. When I pay somebody to sing, I expect them to sing, not talk.
ReplyDeleteAnd anyway, what makes Bruuuce think anyone gives a rat's ass what he thinks... about anything?
Bruce has contracted the fatal "Dixie Chicks Derangement Syndrome".
