In order to determine where Americans have the most red, white and blue pride, WalletHub compared the states across 13 key indicators of patriotism. Our data set ranges from the state’s military enlistees and veterans to the share of adults who voted in the 2024 presidential election to AmeriCorps volunteers per capita.
“The most patriotic states have a lot of residents who serve or have served in the armed forces, high voter turnouts during elections, and a high share of the population volunteering with national or local organizations. Patriotism also isn’t concentrated in any one particular area – the top states are located in vastly different geographic regions.” - Chip Lupo, WalletHub Analyst.
Virginia is 2025’s most patriotic state. For every 100,000 civilians in Virginia, there are over 1,850 active-duty military personnel, the third-most in the country. And for every 1,000 civilians, there are over 103 veterans, the second-most in the country. The rest of the study is here.

Very interesting post. The study leaves out an important negative factor in Virginia. The vast number of Deep State communists in northern Virginia counterbalances patriotism In the rest of the state. That’s why Virginia ends up with senators like Warner and Kaine. If Trump keeps firing government employees, then there may yet be hope for Virginia.
ReplyDeleteMost Patriotic Virginis???
ReplyDeleteMaybe in old Virginia, rural areas and out in the country.
But not Northern Virginia wher the leftist fedral government Swamp People dominate and roam free..
Most of the GA enlistees are not from the metro areas. They are from areas that do not have much job opportunity. We also have 3 major Army bases, two major USAF bases, and a Sub base with a large Guard and Reserve population. What I do not understand is why the Marines do not have a base on the Okefenoke. The Marines will find swamp land or open desert and build a base there. They did it in South Carolina, North Carolina, southern California, and Arizona.
ReplyDeleteTriple weighting for voting in the Presidential election by only Full weight for the Primary? I think it should be the other way around. Plus a few other faults as well.
ReplyDeleteVermont? The state that gave us Bernie? The state that has a legislature to the far left of Lenin? The old timer natives, maybe, but the Flatlanders ruined it with their "Rules for thee, but not for me" and "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it" attitude towards cost of living and affordability.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia was a destination for vets after WWII because they loved the climate, geography and opportunities here. They raised their families here by the tens of millions. Now they have one of the lowest amount of vets. It's either because the state is over-run with illegals who should not be counted, or the vets and their offspring were smart enough to get out.
