Columns of tanks have arrived in Washington DC ahead of an enormous planned military parade to mark the US Army’s 250th anniversary, which coincides with President Trump’s birthday and Flag Day. A mile-long line of tanks, some of the 150 military vehicles set to take part in Saturday’s parade, arrived in the capital by freight train over the weekend.
M1 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradley and Stryker fighting vehicles, and M109 Paladin howitzers were among the equipment that arrived this past Saturday, ending a 1,300-mile journey from Texas that began on May 21. The daylong event along the National Mall will also feature approximately 6,600 soldiers and 50 aircraft, according to the Army. Click the headline for the full article.
I'm proud of my service in the Army during the 'Nam war. I didn't go over, but I served with a lot of guys who did. I'd love to see this parade and celebration, but I'm gun-shy about crowds anymore with all the crazy shit going on in the world, and - I hate to say this - but this kind thing is a prime target for some demented jerkoff. Juss' sayin'...

I wish I could go see it...
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteI live in The Villages as well, and to avoid crowds, I don't even go to the squares anymore!

Especially since some jerk off Al Qaida asshole called for Muslims to rise up, start riots and kill the president. We are at WAR.
ReplyDeleteThe DC commie-crats are gonna be shitting bricks with all that hardware around. I suppose plenty of safe spaces stocked with coloring books and binkies will be available.
ReplyDeleteThey're going to have groups marching in all historic uniforms and kit. From Rev War times to modern. It's being livestreamed on the US Army's website.
ReplyDeleteCertainly would be a sight to see mass arrests of all the congresscritters up to no good. Maybe bag a couple treasonous Generals...
ReplyDeletePerhaps the Army has an ulterior motive. Maybe they're all armed with live ammo. One can hope.
