The mountain is situated near the village of Dunlewey (Dún Lúiche) in County Donegal and it is also close to other towns and villages like Gweedore (Gaoth Dobhair), Falcarragh (An Fál Carrach), and Letterkenny, the largest town in Donegal. The area is part of the Gaeltacht region, where Irish is widely spoken, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of the area.
