The reality of political differences with friends and family...

I'm sure it's happened to you as often as I've experienced it, and there are a couple of truths in that cartoon. And now that social media is so pervasive in our society and culture, it's only gotten worse. I have friends - and family - who don't speak to me anymore because of my 'politics' - or more to the point - what their political leanings force them to think and feel about mine.
Social media - especially Fakebook - is not an appropriate platform for the diatribes and hate speech we all see there - at least not in my opinion.
Over-simplifying it, it's akin to my saying 'You like liver and onions? I can't be your friend any more'. Get over yourselves and drop the self-righteous bullshit posture. There's a reason there are curtains on polling booths, Jughead...

  1. Friends with a guy since Sophomore year in HS (1962). Best man at his two weddings. Found that he loved Obama. Kicked him to the curb. Haven't seen him since.

  3. I have a sister is is an opinionated liberal, for months I haven’t commented until I had enough on one of her very vocal days, and asked her to stop, she didn’t. So I debated her using her quotes, now we don’t speak.
