I haven't bowled in 40 years, but...

I'll try not to make this short story too long. Last night after dinner we went to a bar to see a friend's band play. Their set ended at 9:00, so seein's how the bar was in a bowling alley, my drunken goombahs all decide to go bowling.
I have flip-flops on so it's a no-go for me, but three beers in my buddy Dan dares me to throw a ball. Like I said, I haven't bowled in 40 years, but fuck it. I drop the flops, grab a ball and throw a dead-nuts center-mass perfect fuckin' barefoot strike. Turned around, high-fived Dan and sat down and finished my beer. I imagine I'll be hearing about that for a while.

On a brisk October evening, crowds gathered outside a glowing Times Square theatre to see Frank Sinatra perform at the height of his popularity. Young women in coats and gloves lined up hours early, their excitement buzzing through the air. Marquees lit up the street, announcing “Sinatra Tonight” in bold letters.
Inside, ushers in uniform guided guests to velvet-covered seats as the orchestra tuned up. Outside, soldiers on leave smoked cigarettes and listened from the sidewalk. That night, the city paused to swoon—caught in the charm of a crooner and the comfort of music during uncertain times.

When you have a very expensive, taxpayer funded program that's bloated beyond control, dig trenches and fight to the death to preserve it. These fuckin' people really don't understand how the real world works, do they?
Illinois, which has already thrown $1.6 billion at giving free health care to illegals, is already looking to ditch some of the healthcare plans. Radical, left-wing Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who has ideas of running for president in 2028, has suggested the program should be ended and has ruled the program to be fiscally untenable. Like Gov. Pritzker, California’s left-wing Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom — who also has pretensions of running for president in 2028 — floated the idea of cutting free health care for migrants.

Sounds reasonable to me. - put the agents where the crimes are. That ain't rocket surgery. I'm sure there'll be a centralized data center somewhere, but that wasn't mentioned in the article I saw.
In 2013, before entering politics, the now-78-year-old considered acquiring it from the government for a private project in exchange for building a new FBI office elsewhere. In 2018, during his first presidential term, Trump made clear he loathed the edifice and would be glad to see it go...

Interesting that they don't include cops (ie: Law Enforcement) in this chart. If they did they'd probably rank somewhere towards the top of the list. I think that 'Utilities' category might be skewed a bit by all the wind-farm bullshit.

  1. Oh yes Minnesota, give illegals free health care. That generous offer will suck illegals out of 49 other states.

  2. I saw some job gains/losses figures that used similar categories. Why exactly are private education and health services combined? One is privately paid for and the other is massively funded by government theft/taxes. As with ALL government categories increases in employment numbers mean more money STOLEN from the productive sector of society.

  4. F@#king scotus.
Utility workers in norcal make big money. They live in very nice houses and have lots and lots of toys to play with and time off to enjoy them. Their retirements are some of the best. Meanwhile I can't afford to run the heater.

  5. I suppose it would be asking too much for congress to defund activist courts. And the aclu has been anti American for as long as I can remember.

  6. My father had a similar story (to the bowling event) about handguns. Just after WWII, he and another guy were hiking along a canyon. The guy was being obnoxious about the .45 caliber Army issue that they let him take home, and he kept badgering my father to shoot it (knowing my father wasn't that into guns). So my Dad finally takes it from him, indicates a white rock on the other side of the canyon (way, way out of handgun range), and casually shoots it one-handed. The rock exploded. My father handed it back to the guy, said "It shoots nice", and not another word was spoken on the subject of guns.

Talk about taking advantage of random chance!
