Over the 12 month period, 6,618 Americans applied for British citizenship – with more than 1,900 of the applications received between January and March, most of which has been during the beginning of Donald Trump’s second US presidency. The surge in applications at the start of 2025 made that the highest number for any quarter on record.
The figures come as British authorities under a Labour government are trying to reduce immigration to the UK, with Britain’s prime minister, Keir Starmer, vowing to take “back control of our borders” and warning that uncontrolled immigration could result in the country “becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together”.

It's more different than people think it is. For the seriously rich who can live in isolation, no worries. For almost everyone else, taxes are higher, health care worse, shopping for daily life, difficult. ReplyDeleteI lived in the UK for 3 1/2 years back in the 90s. I worked with their joke of a military and even bigger joke of a police force. I was never happier than when that assignment was over and my plane lifted off the tarmac at Gatwick. I knew that I would never have to set foot back in that festering anal pustule of a country. They are nothing but a nation of cowards. They will gladly commit national suicide out of fear that someone, somewhere might called them a (Clutch pearls....GASP!) RACIST!
