Any excuse for a demonstration, right?

As my father was fond of saying, 'If it ain't something, it's something else'. He said that alot, especially whenever I got busted doing something stupid. As per this, it seems like every time ya turn around, these goofballs have found yet another something to bitch (I mean 'protest') about.
People in Oregon and Washington filled the streets Thursday as part of May Day demonstrations. The international event, which commemorates the fight for workers’ rights, has often been used to express broader political unrest. Thousands of demonstrations were planned across the U.S. In the Pacific Northwest, cities like Portland, Olympia and Seattle, as well as smaller towns like La Grande and Ellensburg, Washington, saw protests.  Hundreds of people took to the streets at the Oregon capitol in Salem also.
It would appear that not a single one of them had a job to report to, so it's still a bit unclear why they were protesting in support of workers when they, in fact, were not workers. I get confused very easily...

The Trump administration is expected to ask Congress to rescind more than a billion dollars of funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, or CPB.
That's the congressionally created body through which NPR and PBS get federal funding.

The Simon and Garfunkel song "The mother and child reunion" came about when Simon walked into a Chinese restaurant and saw a menu item named mother and child reunion. it was eggs and chicken.
