The Chicoms have been flooding our markets with cheap, poorly made crap for years. Time for it to stop...

From Breitbart - Shein, which primarily specializes in inexpensive and poorly made women’s clothing, and Temu, which sells clothing, home goods, and other items of murky origin to Americans, both rely on the use of mobile phone apps to provide instant access to “fast fashion” and rapid consumption for Americas. The extreme discounts are a result of two policies: shipping the products directly from China to the consumer, rather than importing them in large quantities, and — according to Congress and other verifiable sources — the widespread use of slavery in the Chinese manufacturing sector, including slaves imprisoned as part of the ongoing Uyghur genocide.
If you're as old as dirt like I am, you'll remember when, back in the 50's and 60's, if you saw that something was 'Made in Japan', you knew it meant it was a shit product. Well, the Japanese have certainly turned that on it's head. Think the Chicoms are smart enough - through all this tariff shit - to figure out we don't want crappy products anymjore? Stay tuned - might be interesting...

  1. Yeah I remember in the 60s calling it Jap crap.
Or cheap "plastic" crap when stuff here was made from quality materials.

  2. I'm 78 years old. I remember a time when you looked at an item and if it said "Made in Japan", you knew it was inferior quality and didn't buy it. Today in 2025, I look at a label of an item and if it says, Made in Japan or Taiwan, I know it's better quality than the shit you see from China. A couple new rifle scopes have come on the market lately, made in China but with Japanese glass. That's their selling point. Hard to even find a Nikon camera anymore with Japanese glass.
Back in 1964 or so, I read an article in a magazine about the Switzerland display at the World's Fair. It seems that the Swiss brought over a couple of watch or clock parts and had them on display to show their machining quality. How fine their machining was......Well, a couple of American machinists stole them one night and took them to their machine shop, drilled a hole in them like the thickness of a hair and not only that but threaded it. They put it back before the Swiss knew and it sat on display with no one the wiser.
That used to be American quality.

  5. I laugh when folks complain about Chinese quality or lack there of,you pay low money for a good/product don't expect something of high quality.

I have no doubt the Chinese could build high quality, just have to pay a reasonable price.
