A woman was killed and another remains in a serious condition after a lightning strike hit a tree south of Sydney, Australia on Saturday afternoon. Emergency services were called to a home on Old Razorback Road in Cawdor following reports two people were hit by fragments of a tree. Rosanna Hashem was treated at the scene, however she could not be revived.
A second woman, also in her 40s, was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition. Ms Hashem, who owned cat grooming service The Groomery, died a day before her 44th birthday, according to a post on fundraising site GoFundMe.
