Maybe if their coffee didn't cost $ 6.00 - and it didn't suck...

According to market reports, Starbucks will lay off 1,100 corporate employees as Brian Niccol, the new CEO of the Seattle-based coffee chain, plans to streamline operations. The announcement, which the company made Monday in a press release, comes after senior leaders in January began "evaluating the role, structure and size of" its global corporate divisions. Those whose positions are being eliminated will be notified by Tuesday, Niccol said in a statement.
The move, which also involves the decision to not fill "several hundred" open positions, does not apply to baristas and others who work in Starbucks stores themselves, the release stated. Those laid off will be offered comprehensive severance packages that could include pay, healthcare and career transition services, Niccol added.
Who could ever imagine that a company that serves grossly over-priced bitter espresso could have that many employees they could get rid of? Maybe they are just following Musk's Twitter theory...

Starbucks laying of execs? NO, this shall not stand! Quick everybody, let's go down to the Mermaid building and protest! Let's sing songs of resistance! We shall overcome! They won't get us! AAAARRRGGGHHH!

Been to Charbucks H.Q., the Mermaid building, quite a few times, even tried to get employed with them. They were tough employers for the stuff I do - training and development - and I would have learned a lot being there. Oh, well, had to settle for working for banks, insurance, CPAs, Boeing, Microsoft, Gates Foundation, Xerox, and other little guys like them... Glad I do not have to do that anymore.

  3. Is that considered a Vente lay-off or a Grande?
