Could well be that my blood's gotten too thin from all those years livin' in the Caribbean. Might have to actually buy a coat, ferfucksake...
Yeah - every year at just about this exact same time the thermometer does a serious nose dive into the upper 20's/lower 30's. Thankfully, more times than not it only lasts about three or four weeks and then gets back to normal. Not so much this year - it's been ball-shrinking cold since before Christmas. Must be acausa' that global warming shit they been talkin' about, huh?

Note that this set of instructions was produced and published by the Navaho Nation. It's sad that they'd think they need to do this for the real, original native Americans, isn't it?

My Mother and Father on their wedding day 76 years ago. She was godawful beautiful - 100% Italian from the other side. I wonder what she saw in that Irish/English/Scottish white bread madman...

Storm warnings issued by the Irish Government:
Ireland's been getting their ass kicked for the last two days by this Storm Éowyn. Kinda like their version of a hurricane, with another, similar storm following just a couple of days. Power is out all over the island - both in the Republic and in Northern Ireland. If you're at all interested, here's the coverage from Dublin: https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2025/01/25/ireland-weather-updates-storm-eowyn-aftermath/
Speaking of the Irish, it's interesting to see their take on the new Trump regime. This editorial cartoon ran yesterday in the Irisdh Times:

ReplyDeleteI have a very good friend who was born and raised in Brooklyn and who had a long and fulfilling career as a firefighter in the Bronx. He is 100% Italian. Me? I am mostly Scotch - Irish. He and I were talking about my fascination for Italian ladies. He told me that he always liked Scotch - Irish woman and that he'd never - ever marry an Italian lady. So maybe 70-some-odd years ago, your sainted mother knew what to do. And by the way, I married a red head Scots woman.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog Joe. A consistent source of good stuff. Thank you for that! DG
ReplyDeleteThanks Buddy - I sho' does depreciates dat...
DeleteThe one comic strip isn't supposed to be humorous, but is commentary on what Michigan is doing. That far north, solar panels might not make sense. Worse, trees capture lots of carbon and they're clearing 200 acres of forest. In any other scenario, that would be an environmental catastrophe. Its just highlighting how stupid the virtual signaling leftists are in the state of Michigan.
ReplyDeleteMen and Sex...if you're not getting it you think about it all the time. Also it's age dependent. That 30% is probably married.
