Newsmax is reporting that The Village People announced they will be performing at inauguration events for President-elect Donald Trump. The group's iconic anthem "Y.M.C.A." has become the signature song at Trump rallies. "We know this won't make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics," Victor Willis, a member of the group said on Facebook. "Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost. We believe it's now time to bring the country together with music."

Los Angeles’s rich and famous are facing growing criticism for using private firefighters and personal fire hydrants to protect their homes against the deadly wildfires...
...
The two largest wildfires in the L.A. area have destroyed more than 12,000 structures and killed at least 24 people and are expected to grow again this week as strong winds fuel the flames.
The one thing that's hardest for most people to get behind is the fact that these same winds fueling these fires happen every year, and have been happening long before a single foreigner ever stepped on to this land. The Spanish explorers who first came to this area in 1542 by ship called it 'The Bay of Smoke' because of the wildfires raging back then. There's an interesting article about that here if you're inclined.
