He has a worm in his head and he's an absolute nut job, this is a dumbass move by Trump.
ReplyDeleteThought that too. However. SOME, at least, of his positions are simply not-the-current-dogma, with his position hyped and misreported. Fluoridation, for example. Turns out the actual data is at least somewhat concerning, and with proven alternatives mass water treatment can be argued to be a bad idea. What really bothers the 'expert scientific' community is that they are challenged, and for the past 30+ years they have not been. Other well known examples are the whole fat in diet controversy, salt-is-bad-for-everyone, and using HFCS; again, the 'expert' community position is clearly, provably wrong...but still the 'settled science'. Kennedy is a skeptic, but not nuts.
DeleteSome staff members at the Food and Drug Administration are considering a quick exit as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is being floated as a potential health official in the incoming Trump administration, according to three former and one current government official who were granted anonymity to speak freely about sensitive issues. The former officials are still in touch with colleagues who work at the FDA.

“With the first administration, more people took a wait-and-see approach. Now, between the concerns about new post-employment restrictions and the risk of involuntary separation, more people are looking proactively,” one former official said.
The current official agreed with that assessment, adding that “dozens” are most likely considering their options.
An objective look shows a lot of regulatory capture at FDA and other agencies. An exodus won't be a bad thing.
