Clyburn, a staunch, Black Caucus member, liberal demorat from Souf Car'lina, was on with Neil Cavuto yesterday, talking about DJT.
“I hope it’s not going as far right as that which happened in Germany in the 1930s,” he said. “But you may remember I forewarned way back in 2018 that I saw this coming. I’ve studied history all of my life. I mean, since being a preteen, I’ve been enamored with this country’s history. And I can tell you what I said back in 2018 on another network is now coming to pass. People chastised me for saying it at that time, but now they are seeing it”
Clyburn has invoked Hilter many times, in fact, including in 2018, 2019, and 2022, for example, and was probably referring to an interview with Don Lemon on CNN that got a lot of attention at the time. “Are you envisioning another Hitler? Is that what you’re saying?” Cavuto asked. “That’s exactly what I’m saying. I said the 1930s in Germany!” Clyburn shot back.
An excerpt from the interview is here, along with additional quotes. Doesn't it scare the fuck outta you that people like this hateful, bigotted old fuckwad are in positions of power and policy-making? It does me, but hey, who am I to judge, huh?
I listened to an interesting piece by Dinesh D'Souza today, "Is Fascism Left or Right?" The originator of fascism was an obscure, buried in history Italian by the name of Gentile (gen te la). Mussolini was a disciple and his writings provide a glimpse into Gentile. Bottom line, the Democrats spewing the "Trump is a fascist" lies are disingenous in the extreme as fascism is a leftist ideology built around "the State is everything." And Clyburn (who is the congressman for where I live) should have retired years ago; he's the poster child for why Term Limits are needed. Out of the 7 or 8 congressional districts in SC, he was the ONLY democrat re-elected on 11/5. The district was gerrymandered a long time ago for the obviousl purpose. The second place finisher, a black man running as a Republican, lost by 30,000 votes! No one ever comes close to Clyburn.
