The death knell is ringing for print news media. Thankfully...

The Newark (NJ) Morning Ledger Co., which owns the Newark Star Ledger - my hometown newspaper - said declining circulation, rising costs, and a reduced demand for print publications led them to the decision to close down the print edition if February, 2025.
Advance Local, which owns NJ Advance Media and NJ.com, will also stop printing The Times of Trenton and the South Jersey Times, which are both daily papers, as well as the weekly Hunterdon County Democrat. The final daily editions will be published on Feb. 2, 2025, and the last Hunterdon County Democrat will be published on Jan. 30. The Jersey Journal,  after 157 years of keeping Hudson County (Jersey City) informed, which also owned by Advance Publications, will close entirely. Its last edition will be printed on Jan. 31.
Newark, up until 1968, had two daily newspapers - the Star Ledger and the Newark Evening News.

When I was kid, starting maybe when I was around eight or nine, I delivered both papers in my neighborhood - the Ledger in the morning and the News in the afternoon after school, with about 60 or so customers, most of which got both papers. Sunday mornings were an absolute ball buster, believe me...

  2. Maybe they should have written stories about news instead of democrat party propaganda disguised as news.
