A climate protester was hospitalized with facial injuries on Wednesday after being punched by a security guard at Citibank's New York headquarters. The incident occurred as activists with the Summer of Heat campaign were gathered in the bank's lobby. Eren Can Illeri, the injured protester, was part of the protest demanding a meeting with Citibank executives to address the bank's continued investment in fossil fuels.
Summer of Heat, a coalition backed by New York Communities for Change, Planet Over Profit, and Stop the Money Pipeline, has made Citibank a primary target this summer.
Video footage of the incident shows Illeri filming with his phone when a security guard approached him and attempted to grab the device. The guard then punched Illeri in the face and pushed him to the ground.
Give this man a medal. Buy him a beer. The building should be renamed in his honor. Buy him two beers and a shot. No shit - I've been begging to do something like this for years. Well played, brutha. The full story is here.

They need to start capturing these activists and branding them. Then, if they get caught at a second "event" they should be castrated. A third event, .... you don't want to hear what I think should be done to them.
ReplyDeleteJust popped him with the phone. First time that kid has ever been hit in the face.
ReplyDeleteThe moron has a CELLPHONE?
ReplyDeleteDoes he know how many valuable earth resources it takes to even CREATE one?
Oh!, Oh! Do the little Thunberg cunt next!
ReplyDeleteClearly, it is not the guard's fault the douche has such a smackable face and then placed that face in range.
ReplyDeleteThe guard should have used a baseball bat.
Stupid should hurt. The only way to stop shit like this is to make it hurt a lot.
