There are a coupla good reasons why I live where I do, instead of somewhere right or left on either coast. The first is cost - the closer the beach, the higher the price. Also the traffic. We woulda moved to the Ft. Lauderdale area but for the traffic. And not just when the snow birds are here - traffic down there is hellacious. No matter what road you're on, you will catch every single fuckin' red light - swear to God. Want a cuppa cawfee? Takes an hour just to go Dunkin' and back.
Anyway, the # 1 reason is because we're half-way between here and there, meaning if a Cat-5 hit anywhere and came on shore directly at us, it'd be diminished drastically by the time it gets to us.
Having been through a half-dozen or so Cat-5's I can tell this - they really suck. Survey says? Number ONE answer...

When I mentioned this the other day, I said they'd have a couple hundred carts. I was off by a few. It was more like 1,000. Yup - that's a legit number. It's estimated that there are as many as 85,000 golf carts cruising around The Villages. That is a real number - I been tellin' you, this place is fuckin' HUGE. And, no, I don't own one...

Here's a nice idea for a simple gift
for any ocassion - or none at all...
They're only $ 20.00 and that includes free shipping!
These were really good amps back in the day. We had a formula for figuring out how much they cost. It was twenty bucks per button and fifty per dial, so this shoulda cost around $ 650.00 bucks or thereabouts. That was a lotta dough back in the late 70's. They still go for damn near that much - that's testimony to how they are/were...

New Jersey families looking to get a headstart on the back-to-school rush will have to dig a little deeper into their wallets this year, because the state will not be observing its annual tax exemption holiday.
The holiday, which was signed into law back in 2022, was repealed in this year's state budget, because they just don't give a fuck wether you can afford it or not. The 10-day-long tax-free period was meant to ease the financial burdens of back-to-school shopping.
The end of the break comes as items and supplies needed for the upcoming year are estimated to cost about two-three percent more than they did last year. According to the National Retail Federation, families will spend upwards of $850 on supplies and clothes as kids head back to school.
Florida has an extnded tax-free holiday on all back-to-school items up to $ 1,000.00 per single purchase.
