It's always a challenge finding something to start the blog with, so...

I decided it takes too much effort and energy when I could just go full out 'Machine Gun'...

Just stop and think for a minute. Is there any one person in history who did more to change the direction of music - for that matter perhaps the culture - than  this magnificent motherfucker? I'm hard pressed to come up with anyone else, but that may just be my parochial, tunnel-vision perspective.

Even when the weather's shitty (like it always is in January here),
I still spend more time in my lanai - my second living room - then just about anywhere else in the house. That is when I'm awake, anyway...

The one thing I definetly do not miss about living up north is seeing
this kind shit weather forecast.

Populations of wild pigs are crashing due to the spread of African swine fever (ASF), threatening the livelihoods of millions who depend on them for food. With a fatality rate of almost 100%, ASF has swept across Asia, Europe and Africa, devastating domestic and wild pig populations over the past 10 to 20 years. The impacts are especially significant in Borneo, in south-east Asia, where bearded pig numbers have declined by between 90% and 100% since it arrived on the island in 2021.
They don't seem to have the same problem in Israel...

A New York Magazine columnist claims Biden's 2020
election win was most joyful moment across the
United States since VJ DAY in 1945.

The assertion, aired by commentator Jonathan Chait, came in the opening sentence of a New York Magazine article Wednesday, and is already spawning fierce debate. Biden was officially voted in on November 7, 2020, when he clinched enough electoral votes to be named president-elect.
Some celebrations were seen afterwards, mostly confined to progressive cities like New York. Chait compared those processions to those seen on August 14, 1945, when news of Japan's WWII surrender caused celebrations to erupt across the US. He wrote of how Biden's win was the most joyous day since, ignoring damn near the entire rest of the country. And this is considered 'journalism' in the circles he's in.

  1. I have been looking at real estate in The Villages for nearly a year now. As I sit and look at the foot of snow outside (Chicago area) and think about the subzero temps we had all last week, a move to Florida can't come soon enough. By September I plan to be your neighbor.
