ReplyDeleteI had a National Guard buddy that was the telephone switch engineer for Disney in Orlando. It paid more than AT&T and had better benefits but he called it "working for the rat". He would volunteer for extra active duty to meet the maximum days that the Rat authorized level-up pay for military service. His first day of being eligible for a Disney retirement he dropped the paperwork and started guard-bumming, pulling the maximum number of active duty day possible in a year. He did that for over 10 years where he got a full military retirement by the time he was 56.
