New York Post story - Donald Trump stormed out of his New York civil fraud trial Wednesday after being called to the stand for a surprise hearing in which the judge scolded him as “not credible” — and fined him $10,000 for breaching a gag order by maligning the court’s lead law clerk.
“Don’t do it again, or it will be worse,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron chastised Trump, 77, after the ex-president got off the stand and walked back to the defense table, slouching with his head tilted down.
During the dramatic three-minute hearing, Trump denied he was speaking about Engoron’s law clerk when he griped to reporters earlier in the day that “a person who is very partisan” was sitting “alongside” the judge – who is deciding the $250 million fraud case that threatens The Donald’s New York real estate empire.
What the Donald doesn't understand - and never has - is he needs to just shut the fuck up and do what needs to be done. His ego will not let him be silent, and eventually, it's gonna be the cause of his downfall. Another thing he certainly doesn't understand is there really is a good chance that a New York judge (corrected) WILL convict him, even if he's not technically guilty.
Two things worth mentioning here. First and foremost, a convicted felon can not run for President, all though this is a civil case, he does had felony charges in other states and two - even if he appeals the verdict, the appeal won't come in time for the election. Judges in New York will see to that.

Stand up!
ReplyDeleteThere's also really is a good chance that a New York jury will convict him if he IS technically - or more likely LITERALLY - guilty.
ReplyDeleteIf he just STFU, then he wouldn't be Trump
ReplyDeleteThe New York case is not a criminal case.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the New York jurors. That’s why Trump and his lawyers decided against having a jury. The judge will decide how much he pays. (He has already decided that Trump violated the law.). There are some advantages on appeal to this approach.
You are also right that Trump should tone it down. But he wouldn’t be Trump if he did.
Thing is, the defendant still has First Amendment rights. The judge, by making harsh gag orders constantly, is threatening to destroy the case.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I like Trump. And the whole purpose of the gag orders is to get him to shut up and get him to not make waves, to sit on his hands and be sidelined. While running a presidential campaign.
Is the Judge and her staff partisan against Trump? Yes. Do they not want him talking about anything? Yes. Will they try to gag him over anything? Yes.
I agree. This obvious bias will likely result in an appeal that overturns the trial judge.
DeleteAnonymous, I'm sure it will be overturned, but all it will take is for the Appellate Court to slow-walk the appeal to keep it from happening until after the election.
DeleteWhere does it say a felon can't be President?
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought as well. I don't think the Constitution lists that as a disqualification.
DeleteNo, he should continue to defy these election interference Lawfare bastards over this made up crap. At 77 he has enough eff U money to tell them all to go pound sand, and besides, them shanghaiing him then clamping his protected free speech is such total BS. This judge and DAs actions look exactly like they are, unlawful and criminal.
ReplyDeleteThey try to put him in jail over something so fabricated it’s more hollow than a Mr Potatohead, and the country, at least half, will go ape on these scumbag DAs and judges…who out the other side of the courtroom are letting off real criminals who actually harm people. No quarter Mr. President..tell them to go screw themselves.
I'm pretty sure Trump will be president, he has already been selected.
ReplyDeleteHe's paying some people a lot of money to fix this.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to STFU, listen to them and get on with his life.
Since Trump is being fined for basically campaigning, he should be able to use campaign funds to pay the fines.....am I not correct?....
ReplyDeleteFYI boys and girls, there is no jury, this is a bench trial, Engoron is the soul decision maker. probably done on purpose as Engoron is activist psycho and it will be easy to get his decision overturned. Remember there is no victim here all the loans were paid off, this is more about hatred of 45 and election interference extraordinaire.
ReplyDeleteThis will kill NY business as they are looking at what is happening to Trump and his legitimate business dealings and see what he is going through. Whether or not they like Trump it is a wake up to decide if they want to leave NY for another state. NY cannot afford to lose the tax revenue of major businesses leaving with their employees.
