It's legal in New York and California to marry your first cousin. It's not legal in Mississippi. It is very common in some cultures for people to marry their first cousins in order to preserve the family wealth. A few incidences of marrying your first cousin isn't that big of a risk. When it occurs for several generations, it can become a problem.
ReplyDeleteI found it is legal to marry your 2nd cousin in all 50 states....I came from a very large family with lots of good looking second cousins....if only I'd known....al those family reunions.....kidding.....sort of....
