Used to have a phone booth like that across the street from my apartment....in 1971, who could afford a phone....my girlfriend at the time would call me on the pay phone, and if I couldn't get there in time, I'd call, let it ring once, hang up, and she'd call me back....since these no longer exist, that is not a possibility today....people consider their cell phone the first necessity in the budget, right before beer and food, so it's a non item today....
ReplyDeleteThese days, if you can't afford a cell phone you certainly can't afford to make many calls from a phone booth - if you could even find one.
