Always been a big fan of this group - especially Vince Gill.
I had no idea he was married to Amie Grant - she's the Amie in his song.
He'll be touring withThe Eagles this summer...
Have you ever worried that, at any moment, you could be struck dead by a penny flung off the roof of a nearby skyscraper? You can rest easy ...
Amy Grant is not this Amie - way before her time, she was 12 when it was released.
ReplyDeleteLove this group. Been listening since the 80's, still in my line up. YT "Live, Taking The Stage". Was a two album set they put out. Off the fricking top good stuff.
ReplyDeleteVince Gill didn't marry Amy Grant until like the 90's or 2000's. They were both previously married.
ReplyDeleteThe song was written in 1972 by Craig Fuller, released in 1975. Gill didn't join PPL until 1978. Gill didn't meet Grant till 1993 and married her in 2000.
DeleteHeard the song Amie in 1972 when I was in a cover band in Florida....always wanted to do the song but never drummed up enough interest from the rest of the band....we were covering a lot of Deep Purple and such in those days.....didn't really fit in with our repertoire, if you know what I mean....Great song, though....Carl Fuller was one of the great underrated lead singer/songwriters of the day....
