Damned if they do and damned if they don't. Budweiser just keeps on screwing the pooch...

Their marketing people seem to be flopping around
like a fish on the kitchen floor.
Anheuser-Busch is being accused of pandering to conservatives who have boycotted Bud Light by releasing a new Harley-Davidson-themed commercial for sister brand Budweiser.
The beer company, which has seen sales of Bud Light tank in recent weeks following the backlash over its partnership with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, recently released a Budweiser ad touting specially created cans with the Harley Davidson logo.
“The greatest legacies are built with grit and resilience - one detail at a time,” the narrator of the commercial said in between footage of a mechanic tending to a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The commercial also cuts to shots of a can of Budweiser that bears the motorcycle brand’s logo.
'Quick - go get some bikers and some grease-monkeys to solve our image problems'. Yeah - good luck with that, Bud...

What a magnificent example of a time when pleasing the eye mattered as much as function.

The three stages of a pineapple's life in one photo. We never throw the tops away when we but pineapples from the store. If you don't know how to do this, Google it. Each one takes about nine months or thereabouts...

This lovely lady's name was Alison Steele, and she was reverentially reffered to as 'The Night Bird'. Over the WNEW-FM airwaves in the late 60's/early 70's she took us into the night with a smokey, sexy voice that was the stuff that made teen-age boys blush. If you were lucky enought o know who - and what - she was, you lived a good life, my friends.

I know - it's hard for me to believe, too - but
occassionaly they actually have serious front page...

It's not so funny, really, but it's subtle and it makes the point
that perspective is relative.

  1. I bet they pivot reinventing old brands and reviving the old Michelob commercials. "Weekends, are made for Michelob..."

  2. Maybe both HD & Buttwiper should consider producing a product so good no one cares what their PC views are. Wouldn't that be something, huh?

  3. I grew up on a farm in south GA. I used to listen to Alison Steele play progressive rock using my dad's ham radio. Somebody in NYC was rebroadcasting the last 3 hours of her show real time and I had the reel-to-reel set up to tape them. I would then copy the songs I liked to cassette. They would not be stereo but I would be listening to music months before it was heard in south Georgia.

What are they thinking, Calvin?
