Funny thing about the Bible - the so-called 'good book'.
Not ONE single word - NOT ONE - is attributed to or was contributed by - a woman. Yeah not a blip. 86 Bible verses about wives - and how subservient they should be.
They do let them pray, although not out loud:

ReplyDeleteEphesians 5: 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her 26to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,…
Colossians 3: 18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. 20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.…
Ephesians 5:33 - Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
And many more.
Yeah...and the Bible sez they gotta do it...a lot.....

ReplyDeleteAnd yet we're finding that adopting the "feminist ideal" makes everyone miserable. I know two couples who are now pushing 60 that followed the Christian precepts for marriage since their early 20s. Both couples are easily the happiest of any of the married couples I know.
ReplyDeleteWhat was it Paul said "Better to marry than to burn"....I'd say that sums it up nicely....what an alternative, huh....
