 Lightfoot, the incredibly ugly, first Black woman and first openly gay person to lead the city, won her first term in 2019 after promising to end decades of corruption and backroom dealing at City Hall. 

But opponents blamed Lightfoot for an increase in crime that occured in cities across the U.S. during the pandemic and criticized her as being a divisive, overly contentious leader.

lawsuit bullshit is despicable?

Los Angeles County has agreed to pay Vanessa Bryant and her three daughters nearly $29 million to settle the lawsuit over the dissemination of graphic photos from the January 2020 helicopter crash that killed her husband and former Lakers star Kobe Bryant, their 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others. 

This settlement comes after a jury awarded Vanessa Bryant $15 million in an invasion of privacy suit filed against Los Angeles County in August 2022 and includes additional funds to settle potential claims from her and Kobe’s daughters, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.

The pictures were shared mostly between employees of the LA County sheriff’s and fire departments including by some who were playing video games and attending an awards banquet. They were also seen by some of their spouses and in one case by a bartender at a bar where a deputy was drinking. Gimme a muthafuk'n break, lady.

I actually know this broad from here in The Villages and she is a textbook asshole who's incapable of listening to anyone who isn't saying what she already knows or thinks. She and her friends may be Trump supporters, but they're just a bunch of jerkoffs just like any other radicalized supporters who'd rather protest something than ever do anything constructive.

Perched on one of Manhattan’s southernmost points, Pier A Harbor House - a renovated pier at the bottom of the West Side Highway with incomparable views of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty - finally opened in 2014 after a decades-long delay to great fanfare. Bad luck still seems to loom over the 28,000-square-foot dining venue, whose prime downtown location made it the perfect match for Financial District office workers and tourists heading from the Staten Island Ferry to the World Trade Center site.

ABC reports that the owners of the establishment, which shut in 2020 due to COVID-19, owe the city a whopping $32 million in rent payments. The outlet notes that the city shelled out $30 million in taxpayer money to restore the pier’s Victorian structure to make the dining destination a reality. The owners, the father-and-son team of Harry and Peter Poulakakos, in exchange inked a 25-year lease with the city and vowed to pay $39.1 million in rent during that span. They have never made a single rent payment -  never paid one thin dime. Too bad - there's a really cool bar up on the second floor.
