I've been saying this about this moron for as long as I remember. he calls himself an 'economist' but what he really is is just a political hack stooge who will never, ever agree with any econimic of fiscal policy that isn't as far left from center as he is.
Krugman, 69 (left), appeared on the network's Reliable Sources talk show to discuss the state of the American economy, and was asked almost immediately by host Brian Stelter: 'Are we in a recession and does the term matter?' 'No we aren't, and no it doesn't,' Krugman responded curtly. 'None of the usual criteria that real experts use says we're in a recession right now. And what does it matter? You know, the state of the economy is what it is.' The vapid and vague response prompted a hail of criticism (right), particularly as it transpired late last week that US GDP shrank for the second quarter in a row - a popular marker of recession.

"Even top economists are struggling to explain perhaps the weirdest economy Americans have ever lived through", CNN's chief media correspondent Brian Stelter said on "Reliable Sources" Sunday. Paul Krugman, a Nobel Laureate (that and Obama tell you everything you need to know about the Nobel pirize) and economist and a longtime columnist for the New York Times, said the economy is not in recession, but added that the distinction doesn't even matter.
"Jobs are abundant, although maybe the job market is weakening. Inflation is high, though maybe inflation is coming down," Krugman said. "What does it matter whether you use the R word or not?"
But in today's divisive environment, the debate over whether or not to use the word recession by some members of the media has become "especially vitriolic," Krugman said.
