It's not a good idea. It's the only idea
that makes any sense...
Isn't it frightening that people hear simple euphemisms
like that and don't take them to heart?
Yesterday, Bitcoin dropped to a low of $25,401.05, its lowest level since Dec. 28, 2020. In the past eight sessions, it has lost a third of its value, or $13,000, and is down more than 45% so far this year.
Bitcoin has never had any value at all. It's value was a perception of the gamblers who bought in to the idea.
Obviously, if you got in in the very, very early days, of course you'd be a multi-millionaire today, but imagine the saps that thought it was worthwhile buying in at $ 65,000+ last year. Betcha they feel like friggin' idiots right about now.
Cryptocurrencies extended their sell-off on Thursday, with Bitcoin falling to its lowest levels in 16 months as a stampede out of so-called stablecoins sent shockwaves around broader markets.
The latest blow to Bitcoin and its smaller rival Ether, which has shed more than half its market value so far this year, came from a meltdown this week in TerraUSD, also one of the world's biggest cryptocurrencies.

God may have made it originally, but
Hubble is recreating the Universe every day.
also known as Caldwell 5. Think about this - it is located approximately 11 million light-years from Earth, and yet we can see it. They know (or assume) that it's 11 million light-years away by measuring the wavelengths of the light as it comes towards us. 11 million light-years is a measure of distance so large (and yet almost vague to us laymen) that the actual number is too great for us to even comprehend. Wrap your head around anything about this and then consider if that shit you wanna fight somebody about is really that important.

Until now, the White House had remained silent about the massive Alaska lease. However, canceling the sale would be in keeping with political promises President Joe Biden made in the name of halting global warming. But those promises have become a political challenge in the face of prices at the pump.
"They don't want to get hit by the Republicans in light of the high gas prices," one environmental advocate told CBS News, speaking on the condition he not be named because of the sensitivity of the topic. "They're getting killed on attacks based on inflation. The most visible sign of inflation is high gas prices."
The delicate political situation was evident after a top environmental official showed her hand in an email that copied a CBS News reporter. Gina McCarthy, the White House National Climate Advisor, wrote that "the Cook inlet sale was canceled. It is not proceeding."
Almost immediately, another White House official jumped in to declare that McCarthy got ahead of herself. Interior Department officials said a final decision had not been made. On Wednesday, though, with time running out, the department made its announcement.
Frank Macchairola, a top official with the American Petroleum Institute, the country's largest oil and gas trade association, called the cancellation of the Cook Inlet lease "another example of the administration's lack of commitment to oil and gas development in the US."
"The President has spoken about the need for additional supplies in the market, but his administration has failed to take action to match that rhetoric," Macchairola said, adding that politically it would play "not well."
"In the kind of price environment that we're seeing, there are negative consequences to shutting off oil and gas development, both politically and practically," he said.

At the Yankee's Tuesday night game, Mayor Eric Adams swore that there were ghosts at the Gracie Mansion.
Club-going Mayor Eric Adams is a man who likes to boogie. Now he also apparently believes in the boogeyman.
Adams turned his attention from the Bronx Bombers to the Manhattan boo-ers as he broke news in the Yankees press box during Tuesday’s game: Gracie Mansion is haunted.
“I don’t care what anyone says, there are ghosts in there, man,” Hizzoner told Yankees announcers Michael Kay and Cameron Maybin, who invited him into the booth after the mayor tossed out the first pitch. Adams laughed while confirming he sees stuff moving around and hears footsteps in the stately 223-year-old country house that became the official mayor’s residence in 1942.
“Listen, they’re creeping around,” he said.
And he's running New York City. Good luck with that.
