The Hubble Telescope may be the greatest single engineering fete of all time, and it's about to be improved upon...
This is what Hubble can see.
...
The James Webb Space Telescope, also called Webb or JWST,
is a large, space-based observatory, optimized for infrared wavelengths, which will complement and extend the discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope. It launched in 2020.
Think about this: The most distant "normal" star ever found, nicknamed Icarus, was recently spotted 9 billion light-years from Earth because of a chance alignment with a foreground object.
9 billion light-years away - a calculation of time and distance so massive you and I cannot even comprehend it. Just ONE light year (ok - a light year is calculated as the distance an un-fettered light source will travel in one of our calendar years) is equivalent to 5.9 trillion miles.
Wrap THAT around yer head when you're pissed off at the old guy in the car in front of you who won't jack-rabbit away when the light turns green.
