This is something I'll never have to see thankfully.

 Imagine you're a 17-year-old soldier from Bayonne, NJ 
in a trench somewhere in France and this 
is what you're seeing over your head...

Trench warfare in 1917. Competing artillery 
and projectiles raining on enemy positions.

  1. My granduncle Walter was a 19 yo private in the U.S. Signal corps stationed in France - on the front lines. He kept a diary and his daughter preserved a lot of the letters he sent home. The stories are all understated, but he saw some up close shit. I was pretty young when he died so I never got to ask him about it.
