The importance of dreams in our everyday lives?

How would anyone strive for anything if it weren't for dreams of some kind or other?

Why not make him a fuckin' drag queen while you're at it?

I was - and still am - a big fan of Lou Reed.

The Velvet Underground (Lou's first band) were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964. The original line-up consisted of singer/guitarist Lou Reed (a true junkie/poet genius), multi-instrumentalist John Cale, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Angus MacLise.
...

In 1974 Lou released one of the best live performances
in all of rock music. Rock & roll animal Live.
If you've never heard this, prepare to be impressed.

The album was recorded live on December 21, 1973, at the Academy of Music in New York City. I was there.
The show started two hours late and lasted barely an hour but was still well worth the effort, believe me. You can also believe me that that two-hour wait was not wasted but by the end of the night we all were...

The strange history of one of northeast Oklahoma's oddest landmarks just got a little weirder.
Someone has updated the famous lost cement mixer of Winganon. Using paint and some props, the artists turned it into a faux space capsule complete with NASA logo, American flag and fake rocket motors. Located on Winganon Road between Highway 169 and Oologah Lake in Rogers County, the landmark came into being, literally by accident.
A cement truck rolled over on the side of the road. The company that owned it came and got the truck, but left the mixer behind because it held tons of concrete. No one is sure exactly when the wreck happened. Some accounts put it as far back as 1959. Since the wreck, graffiti artists have splashed untold gallons of paint on it, sending messages to their friends, just showing off and even making it a memorial to 9/11.

Almost all of this movie was shot in the exact
neighborhood I grew up in in North Newark.

The Arc de Triomphe in Paris has been wrapped
by the Christo foundation, a year after the artists death.
I gotta point out a coupla things here.
1): I'm glad he's dead - the guy was an asshole.
2): This isn't art. It's covering shit with tarps.
3): If the French paid for this, they're bigger idiots
than we thought they were.
4): It looks stupid.

This is the kind of left-handed, screw-loose
logic you get when you let a too-big-already
Government make decisions for you.
Fuck you, fuck them and fuck that.

One of my lifetime's greatest pleasures.
I can still smell it - can you?

If you have Gout and you've never
 known how this supplement can
help, maybe now's time to learn.

Black Cherry Concentrate does one thing - and one thing only.
It breaks down Uric Acid in your system
It does nothing else. It doesn't interfere with anything, it has no side effects or contra-indications with other drugs or supplements that I know of. It does just one thing. It knocks down the severity and frequency of gout flareups. I haven't had one in probably five or so years taking just two of these a day.

More great childhood memories...

The boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ when I was a kid had five or six really good arcades on it. The boardwalk itself - it's still there and going strong - is huge, something like 30 or so blocks long. If you were a kid with a coupla bucks in yer pocket, you could disappear for hours in the places. I close my eyes and I can still see - and smell - these wonderful childhood treasures...

I hope to god this isn't true. If it is, this motherfucker should get leprosy. Juss' sayin'. This jerkoff never spent day one in uniform Fuck him. Despicable fuckin' looney-tune.

  2. ..and I never understood the attraction of ANY live album. I like music, but not when accompanied by screaming, shouting and applause.

    2. Please don't misunderstand - I love all that music, Grand Funk, Lou Reed, Alman Bros, Deep Purple, etc - just not live....unless I was there. I certainly would not attend any large event today since it could be fatal and I ain't talking about covid!

  5. I think whoever ran those arcades got a volume discount. There were a couple near where I grew up in Upstate NY that looked precisely that way. I’m betting they had the same stale popcorn aroma to ‘em too. Good times!
