Covid-19, the media, 9/11 and beer. A working title.

Every morning I get up, brush my teeth, comb my hair, have a cup of tea and find all the wondrous fuckwad news I can stomach. It's amazing I survive the day...

The Ugly Side of New York’s Outdoor Dining 'Renaissance' -
where sidewalk cafes collide with the city’s
inadequate response to homelessness.

The restaurants of New York City are dying and nobody gives a shit. Homeless people interfere with and bother customers trying to eat and nobody can do anything to stop them. The mayor doesn't give a fuck. It's tragic.

Al Capone started one of the first soup kitchens.

The kitchen employed a few people, but fed many more. In fact, preceding the passage of the Social Security Act, “soup kitchens” like the one Al Capone founded, provided the only meals that some unemployed Americans had.

Al Capone’s intentions were an effort to clean up his image. “120 000 meals are served by Capone Free Soup Kitchen” the Chicago Tribune headlined on December 1931. Al Capone’s soup kitchen became one of the strangest sight Chicagoans had ever seen. An army of ragged, starving men assembled three times a day beside a storefront at 935 South State Street, feasting on the largesse of Al Capone. Toasting his health. Telling the newspapers that Capone was doing more for the poor than the entire US government. He was even offering some of them jobs. Capone milked his good works for all the favorable publicity they were worth. He came down and walked among the men, the wretched of the earth, offering a handshake, a hearty smile, and words of encouragement from the great Al Capone. During November and December, Al Capone’s Soup kitchen kept regular hours, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thanksgiving Day 1930 was a particular public relations triumph for Capone. On that day he could boast that he fed more than 5,000 hungry men, women, and children with a hearty beef stew.

The kitchen was demolished in the 50’s, but used to be located at the corner of 9th and State St. The site is now a parking lot.

The Atlantic magazine is slammed for publishing an op-ed saying the Nobel Peace Prize should be canceled - because Trump was twice nominated.

Do you remember any time when there was this  much pure, disgusting hatred of a President? Maybe Nixon, but that's pretty much it.

Derek Jeter - genuine nice guy and a class act - embracing a New York City fire fighter after 9/11. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Years ago, all over Europe and the Caribbean,
in almost every country and on virtually
every island, there were 'Honor Bars'.

Usually in an alleyway in a town or a roadside stand,  the little bars were - for the most part - unattended little businesses where you helped yourself to whatever you wanted and paid based on a posted price sheet. Sadly, these have all but disappeared over the years because people can't be trusted anymore...

There is a little restaurant in Italy where they take this concept in a different direction. There are no waiters. No menu. Just a fridge full of whatever's there that day. There are no servers of any kind and no bill at the end of your meal.

You pay (if you want) what you feel your meal was worth. The owners are local vintners, cheesemakers, farmers and butchers crafting unique and exquisite dried hams. They designed it that way. What a GRAND concept.

It may take them 40 years to regain people's interest, and that's if they're somehow able to survive. Fuck 'em as far as I'm concerned. Hand-holding pussies. Please.

Delta Force soldier receives the Medal of Honor
from Donald Trump for a raid he led that freed
more than 70 Iraqi hostages from an ISIS prison.

THIS is who we are. A great nation of true heroes, not a buncha preening, tattooed, spoiled rotten cry-baby 'athletes'.

Sgt. Maj. Thomas 'Patrick' Payne, 36, was awarded the Medal of Honor Friday in a White House ceremony. Donald Trump bestowed the valor award on the 19th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Payne is the first living Delta Force member in history to receive the highest military decoration. Payne was honored for his part in the October 22 2015 mission where his team rescued 70 hostages in Iraq.

He and his comrades faced enemy gunfire to rescue people set to be executed by Islamic State militants. Trump praised him as 'one of the bravest men anywhere in the world' and a 'revered American hero'. Ashley, wife of Payne's teammate Master Sgt. Josh Wheeler who died in the mission, joined the ceremony. Highly-decorated Payne joined the Army in 2002 and has been deployed 17 times to combat zones

Andrew Napolitano, the Fox News legal analyst and former judge, has been sued by a former criminal defendant for $10million who claims that he was forced to perform oral sex on him in 1988.

A lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court on Friday alleges that Napolitano sexually assaulted Charles Corbishley after he lured him to his New Jersey home under false pretenses. Napolitano, who is being accused of sexual assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, has denied the allegations. 'These accusations are completely false,' Napolitano said in a statement. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes, at any time, to anyone, for any reason.'

The island kingdom of Bahrain on Friday became the fourth Arab country to normalize diplomatic relations with Israel — and the second as part of a Trump administration peace initiative. Bahrain follows the United Arab Emirates’ decision last month to recognize Israel’s statehood.

“It’s just a very historic day, a very important day — and so interesting that it’s on 9/11,” President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “There’s no more powerful response to the hatred that spawned 9/11.”

  1. Not usually a big fan of blondes but the blonde on the beach under the “Blondie” strip is an absolute stunner. If this don’t kill NFL viewership nothing will. ESPN announced that they will air the entirety of “both” National Anthems along with full camera coverage of the kneelers before both Monday Night Football games. I love it! If this doesn’t wake the average American up to what bullshit pro sports has become nothing wii. And in my opinion toss in the NCAA too,I’m not watching either
