What's the term I'm looking for - is it 'self-conflicting'?

Google's AI machine says that using the phrase 'self-conflicting' (or self-contradictory) refers to statements, actions, or ideas that contain opposing elements, making them unable to both be true simultaneously. Examples include paradoxes ("I always lie"), inconsistent behaviors, or internal, conflicting, psychological desires. It highlights a fundamental, logical, or emotional inconsistency. That makes perfect sense to me.
What doesn't make sense to me at all is all this protesting bullshit against our Government doing exactly what a good government is supposed to do - provide a safe and secure nation for it's citizens.

These jugheads out protesting are defending people who broke our laws as the very first thing they did here. Why is that fact wasted on them? I think the reality is none of these motherfuckers out there doing this shit couldn't give you a good answer why they're doing it without throwing in rehearsed propaganda and DTS along with it. They're pathetic little jerkoffs, plain and simple...

Escalating the war between New York City and the Trump White House, Mayor Zohran Mamdani (or the city's top executive) has announced he will sign controversial new legislation explicitly barring ICE agents from entering, operating out of, or accessing records from Rikers Island or any other NYC correctional facility.
The move is a defiant "double down" on sanctuary city policies just days after federal officials launched "Operation Metro Surge," setting the stage for a constitutional showdown between the city and the Department of Justice.

Shipbuilders have to work where the water is. Farmers have to work where there's room for shit to grow. Makes sense, right - they ain't going anywhere. But the hi-tech outfits can - and will - go where ever the climate is most favorable for their industry. What Cali - and Jersey and New York  - are doing is taxing these companies right out the exit door. When they leave, the jobs - and the tax revenue - go with them. Hard to believe these Lib Governors don't know that by now, huh?

Put this one on your calendar and pray for a clear night. Witness the Dance of the Planets – February 28, 2026. Before the world wakes, the cosmos will perform a rare and silent spectacle. Six planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus will align in the dawn sky, tracing a gentle arc just above the horizon. From the soft light of Venus to the distant shimmer of Uranus, this planetary parade is a breathtaking reminder that even in the quietest hours, the universe is in motion. No telescope needed. Just a clear view, a quiet moment, and the wonder of looking up.

Denmark is taking decisive steps to strengthen national security, offering a potential blueprint for the United States. By expanding military conscription to include women and extending service to 11 months, the country is building a disciplined, self-reliant citizenry ready to defend its homeland.
At the same time, Denmark is cracking down on refugee abuse, tightening immigration policies, and investing billions in reforestation to secure a sustainable future. As America confronts rising security challenges, conservatives argue that Denmark’s commonsense, proactive approach to military readiness and national protection offers valuable lessons for the U.S.

Think warm thoughts...

My home State proves once again they can send genuine idiots to the Senate...

Everything with these lefite loonies is always the worst case scenario. Case in point? Newly appointed US Senator from the Garden State Andy Kim said New Jersey residents are afraid to leave their homes, go to work, or send their children to school, describing a climate of fear he says is spreading across communities statewide. Kim made the remarks Friday after meeting with New Jersey mayors and community leaders who traveled to the capital, relaying concerns from constituents who say they now carry passports out of fear of being stopped while traveling locally.
“People in my state are terrified to leave their homes, to travel without their passports, to go to work and school,” Kim wrote in a statement posted publicly. “I hear you, NJ. There must be accountability for this lawlessness.”
According to Kim, local officials told him residents fear encounters involving administrative warrants rather than judicial warrants, which he said are being used in ways that intimidate people who are legally present in the country. Kim was born in Boston and went on a Rhodes  scholarship to Oxford. At Oxford, Kim became friends with fellow Rhodes Scholar Pete Buttigieg. Need to know more?

If that whole thing isn't a crock of shit, nothing is. Nobody in Jersey - who is supposed to be there - is afraid of almost nothing, let alone going outside. I don't know where this fuckin' tool grew up, but his head's too fasr up his own Dimocrat ass to even speak the truth. These people are the TRUE deplorables...

But they're just peaceful deomonstrations, aren't they?

Video captured and posted by a 'demonstrator' shows a mob of masked anti-ICE agitators harassing a Fox 11 reporter and try to cut equipment cables as the news crew tried cover rowdy protests in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The confused mob is seen encircling the female news reporter as she tries to do her job behind police barricades while some rabble rousers intimidate the crew filming the chaos and mistake the team from local Fox affiliate for Fox News channel.
“Why does Fox News get special access?” one agitator is heard yelling, while others spew vulgarities.

In another clip, the reporter attempts to speak with her cameraman as the crowd yells, “Get the fuck out of here.” At one point, a protester yelled, “Why are they allowed to go back and forth?” as the reporter crossed the picket line. Someone then used a sharp object to cut a camera cable, the video shows. Despite being surrounded, the team of two appeared calm and did not engage with the crowd.

Snow in Tampa and frozen iguanas everywhere...

South Florida residents grappling with unusually cold temperatures were treated to a frightening sight over the weekend as iguanas started falling from the trees. The Sunshine State faced temperatures in the mid-30s on Sunday, leaving the cold-blooded reptiles to go into a state of 'torpor,' in which they temporarily lose muscle control and appear to be frozen. Iguanas - which are considered an invasive species in Florida - were then seen laying immobile in piles on the ground.
If they were to be left out in the cold temperatures for a prolonged period of time, the iguanas may die. 'They're like little bags of ice,' Jessica Kilgore, of Iguana Solutions, told Local 10 News as she collected the normally fast creatures by the handful.
With the temperatures hovering just above freezing, she said people can 'pick them up like easter eggs on the ground.' Floridians are typically forbidden from handling iguanas themselves.
But amid the cold snap, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission decided to allow residents to bring the frozen iguanas to temporary collection sites set up across the state, where they will either be humanely euthanized or transferred to licensed permit holders for sale outside of the state.
As I write this, it's 27 degrees in NoCen Florida...

Was it 'Climate Change' back then?

The Great Blizzard of 1888 struck at a time when the United States had almost no meaningful weather forecasting, so the storm arrived essentially without warning. What began as a heavy rain quickly shifted into a violent mix of snow, hurricane‑force winds, and plunging temperatures.
Cities like New York, Boston, and Hartford were overwhelmed as snowdrifts climbed higher than second‑story windows, trapping people in their homes and bringing daily life to a standstill. The storm exposed just how vulnerable rapidly growing East Coast cities were to extreme weather.
As the blizzard intensified, the region’s infrastructure collapsed. Above‑ground telegraph and telephone lines snapped under the weight of ice, cutting off communication between major cities. Railroads, the backbone of transportation and commerce, froze in place, leaving passengers stranded for days. Emergency services were almost nonexistent, and many people who ventured outside became lost in whiteout conditions. The chaos revealed the limits of 19th‑century technology and the dangers of relying on exposed, weather‑sensitive systems.
In the aftermath, the blizzard became a catalyst for modernization. New York City accelerated plans to move utilities underground and pushed forward with building its subway system, recognizing that elevated tracks were too vulnerable.
The storm also influenced the development of more coordinated national weather forecasting, eventually leading to the systems we rely on today. The Great Blizzard of 1888 wasn’t just a natural disaster, it reshaped how American cities prepared for and responded to extreme weather, leaving a legacy that still shapes urban planning and emergency management.

Phil - that climate denying bastid...

What is the purpose of Ground Hogs Day? It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early. In 2025, the shadow was seen, auguring six more weeks of winter.
The reality of GHD is somewhat different, however. It's become universally accepted because of just how silly the whole concept is. We need foolishness in our lives to balance out all of the craziness and hatred that seem to surround us every day. If they figure out a way to make today's ceremony about Trump or ICE, it will be the last straw for many people - especially me. At that point, I will abandon my faith in humanity...

Nasra Ahmed is a 23-year-old Somali-American woman from St. Paul, Minneapolis. Following the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by ICE-involved shootings, she spoke at a news conference at the Minnesota State Capitol press briefing room about her own problems with ICE.
According to Ahmed, she was wrongfully assaulted by ICE agents to the point of concussion, called a slur and detained for two days. She believes the ICE agents were going after two men she didn't know, and she got caught up in the crossfire just for being Somali, despite being an American citizen.
During the beginning of her speech, nerves seemingly got the best of Ahmed, and she started talking about bananas and rice while trying to explain that "Being Somali isn't just eating bananas with rice." She continued, "People don't think you can eat bananas with rice, but that's what it's like to be Somali and American," but her point ultimately gets lost. This moment was clipped and rapidly went viral online, turning Nasra Ahmed into the "Bananas and Rice Girl."

Happy Groundhog’s day!

While there are several other groundhogs out there none is more famous than Punxsutawney Phil. Good old Phil has been at it since 1886 but the origins of this holiday have roots in Celtic and Germanic traditions. In Germany it was a hedgehog who made the predictions. When German settlers came to Pennsylvania they turned to the groundhog for meteorological advice, due to the lack of native hedgehogs.

Is the award for the worst Super Bowl ever in jeopardy with Bad Bunny and his Bunnyettes?

Obviously, it remains to be seen, but if he wears the dress,
all bets are off...

As far as tvline.com is concerned, 2019's show was the worst ever. According to them, the Super Bowl LIII halftime show is the worst of all time for a number of reasons. Even before the game kicked off, this show was mired in controversy, as first-choice performers exited the show in solidarity with recently blackballed quarterback and social justice activist Colin Kaepernick. That left the NFL with a slowly disrobing Maroon 5, Travis Scott with no autotune, and just enough Big Boi to remind that the game was taking place in Atlanta.
Let's be clear: Travis Scott was not good here. His digitally untouched screeching may even make you look at his catalog differently. But Maroon 5 were the headliners, and boy or boy did they bear the brunt of the blame. From the jump, it was clear that Adam Levine had no idea what to do with his body. He cycled through a range of eighth-grader-at-his-first-formal moves, including a hilarious little arm-swing number in the middle of Big Boi's set, and he insisted on over-ad-libbing his own songs so aggressively that nearly every note ended worse than on the album version.
Then there was the shirtless portion - a nipple reveal that was actually worthy of career-ending backlash. For a self-proclaimed wife guy who'd face allegations of infidelity just a few years later, way too much of this show consisted simply of Levine walking through crowds of screaming women. The music video spinny cam for "Girls Like You" was just the cherry on top. By the time Levine started declaring he had moves like Jagger, it was painfully obvious that, in fact, he did not.
