“60 Minutes” stumbled out of the gate with its lowest-rated season premiere of the 21st century, according to Nielsen ratings. The long-running program drew 7.9 million viewers for its season opener, marking its smallest premiere audience in records dating back to at least 2000. It was also the first premiere this century to fall below 9 million total viewers and 2 million viewers in the key 25-to-54 demographic. The weak opening comes at the start of the first full season under CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.
The problem isn't with the new boss. What it is is the culmination of too many years bullshitting their audience. Their leftie-leaning look at everything is now old hat. Viewers have seen through their agenda-driven bullshit and are finally saying enough is enough - if not too much. The show itself hasn't had the credibility it once had since Andy Rooney died.
Fuck 'em, I say - let them take that garbage somewhere else. Maybe Disney'll come back in their time slot. Lassie - did Timmy fall down the well again?
