A powerful nor’easter expected to strike the Jersey Shore could disrupt events and daily routines, as officials in several towns are monitoring the storm for adverse effects. Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean counties are under coastal flood warnings through early Saturday, while Monmouth County is under a coastal flood advisory. In Ocean City, local officials urged residents in flood-prone areas to prepare for the storm by securing their property and relocating their vehicles.
The storm will arrive after several towns in Cape May County have received fresh sand as part of a nearly $99 million beach nourishment project coordinated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The project has covered Strathmere, Sea Isle City and Ocean City and is now in its final phase in Avalon and Stone Harbor. Workers suspended the project ahead of the storm, which is expected to bring winds up to 50 mph and a strong storm surge, according to the Army Corps’s Philadelphia office.

A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to temporarily restore White House access to journalists from CNN, MS Now and Politico, saying his ban on the three media outlets was likely unconstitutional.
US district judge Tim Kelly issued his order in a lawsuit that the news organizations filed contesting the ban. Kelly ordered the Trump administration to immediately return the outlets’ press passes and issued a temporary restraining order that will be in effect for 14 days. Such orders are typically designed to preserve the 'status quo' pending a closer review of the case by the court.

ReplyDeleteThe major reason for high fuel prices is lack of refinery capacity. So many were closed due to the idiotic EPA rules pushed by Obama and FJB.
