More than half of US college students say controversial speakers should be banned from their campuses, with a record-high number adding that violence is acceptable to stop them, a disturbing study shows.
The results provide a dangerous and “sobering picture” of cancel culture on US campuses, according to the expansive six-year study of almost 300,000 college undergraduates nationwide by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.
“The atmosphere isn’t just cautious - it’s hostile,” the study’s authors wrote. “Students continue to show low tolerance for controversial speakers, and troublingly, more believe it’s acceptable to shout down a speaker, block access to events, or even resort to violence to silence campus speech than ever before.” It's interesting to take note of the fact that the more liberal the college, the less tolerant it is.

The White House television press pool, which covers events by President Donald Trump on a rotating basis, suspended coverage ahead of Trump’s trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly because of the White House’s ban on CNN from acting as a member of that five-member pool.
CNN was barred from covering Trump as the designated TV pooler when the president is visiting New York for the United Nations General Assembly. In addition to CNN, the other members of the White House TV pool are NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox.

James Farthing was cuffed after a caller reported seeing a white Ford Mustang stopped in the middle of an intersection just before 3 a.m. in Georgetown on Sunday. The caller told dispatchers that the vehicle later drove into a Walmart lot to park. Deputies arrived at the megastore parking lot to find Farthing asleep and alone in the running Mustang - and had to repeatedly knock on the window to wake him from a stupor.
