Xenon was a legendary Manhattan discotheque that hosted high-energy events in January 1979 at 124 West 43rd Street in the former Henry Miller's Theatre, later operating as a porn house named Avon-at-the-Hudson before becoming a club - now the site of the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Founded in June 1978 by Howard Stein and Peppo Vanini, Xenon was renowned as the primary rival to Studio 54 during the peak of the disco era, attracting celebrities, rockers, and nocturnal boogie culture with over-the-top theatrical lighting, fog, and immersive dance parties.

They called this thankfully very short short timeline the Roller Disco Era. While roller disco crazes swept New York spaces and specialized rinks in early 1979, iconic nightspots like Xenon occasionally embraced the roller-boogie phenomenon popularized by films and street culture of that exact winter.
