The global total fertility rate is roughly 2.2 children per woman, falling steadily from past decades as socioeconomic trends shift. The wave of childlessness that is sweeping the globe is extraordinary. It’s in the UK, where the fertility rate hit 1.39 children per woman in 2025, the lowest on record. In the US, it's 1.57, also an all-time low.
It’s across the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, visible in so many measures – nearly half of Canadian women surveyed in their 40s said they’d had fewer children than they would have liked. But it’s also a global story. “The UAE, Chile and Tamil Nadu in India have even lower birthrates than Germany,” Camilla Cavendish writes. “China is growing old before it gets rich, and Russia has maintained its population size purely by annexing Crimea and parts of Ukraine.” In fact, when it comes to falling populations, “only the Black Death in the 14th century is comparable to what is happening now”.

Ya know why people aren't having kids? Everywhere they turn they hear someone else telling them about rampant crime, about bad schools, the earth is melting or freezing, and the cost of having kids will ruin their dining-out budgets.
There is no more interest in creating legacies or passing on the knowledge of one genertion to another. In a world where men pretend to be women, even the issue of a mother's love is clouded. That's why people aren't having kids.
Did you catch the term 'Spermageddon'? Spermageddon is a 2024 Norwegian adult animated musical sex comedy film. The film consists of two plot lines, one focusing on a teenage couple having sex for the first time, and the other on Simen the Semen and his friends in quest for the Egg. And of course, being politically correct, it features a black girl and a white guy. Does that guy have a boner?
