Texas is adopting a major ID overhaul that will affect millions of hunting and fishing licenses. The new rules went into effect on Monday. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are adopting strict new identity rules to ensure in-state license holders are actually Texas residents. Texans and other customers aged 17 and up must provide identification to get a hunting or fishing license.
The rule is meant to prevent fraud and give only Texas residents in-state pricing. The new requirement apply to most recreational hunting, fishing, and combination licenses.
They also apply to Super Combo licenses, which bundle several permits together for a lower price, and one-day fishing passes.
The requirement does not apply to youth hunting licenses, and those under the age of 17 don’t need a fishing license. For Texas residents, an unexpired Texas driver’s license or state-issued ID is acceptable – which includes both standard licenses or REAL ID...
Texas requires a photo ID to vote. They don't require an ID to register to vote but you must show a valid ID when you vote.

ReplyDeleteI had a Texas fishing license for 10 years after I was stationed there. I would go back and fish with some of my cousins, I would renew the license at a K-mart. Those fishing trips disappeared when the kids showed up.
