The Emmaus Moravian Church in Coral Bay on St. John in the US Virgin Islands is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and holds an interesting place in St John's history. The Church stands next to the Caroline Estate plantation, the site of a 1733 slave revolt that resulted in the murder of the plantation owner and his 12-year-old daughter. 

Moravian missionaries began preaching in the Coral Bay area in 1756, aided by a baptized enslaved mason named Cornelius who led services for the local enslaved community.

The structure was severely damaged by a hurricane in 1793 and destroyed by a major fire in 1892, then rebuilt and consecrated again in 1893. The church played a key role in providing education to enslaved children during the 19th century.

The building sustained additional damage during Hurricane Irma in 2017, and church leadership has been involved in local planning and legal discussions regarding nearby coastal and marina developments in Coral Bay Harbor.
