This is the lead item on my news feed. You tell me why I would ever give a fuck about something like this half-way around the world. The bigger issue is - why do the newshounds at CNN put this front and center on their news cycle? What message are they trying to send me - here in the middle of no where in Florida - telling me about a school shooting over there? What is the relevence of that to anything in my life? Nothing, that's what.
What it is, however, is a classic example of the prurient nature of news hawks. They only want to show you the worst of humanity, even if they have to go searching for it. And you wonder why I don't watch the news on TV...

Four years ago, we had a hurricane here in Florida - and elsewhere, of course. Hurricane Irma was a long-lived system from Aug. 30 to Sept. 12, 2017. The storm ended up making a total of seven landfalls here in the US.
About a week or ten days after the storm passed us here in NoCenFl, the Babs and I went to Ireland to visit my brother and Caroline. Three days after we landed, Irma struck Ireland. Yes - they can last that long over water if circumstances are correct. The storm rode the gulf stream across the Atlantic. How's THAT for weather karma, huh?

You know how F'ing stupid it is to keep wallowing in the past? Those in power when your "we were hateful ans stupid" picture was taken are all safely in their grave. The millennial generation actually saw people as individuals, and what did they get for their troubles? Sucker punched and told all white men are evil. F that. They are being blamed and punished for things they didn't do -- judged as a group because of their skin color. Straight up racism.
