This is the storm projection map issued last night, and it's still mostly accurate. New Orleans is currently under a tropical storm warning as Tropical Storm Bertha moves toward the southeast Louisiana coast. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and is tracking westward at about 5 mph, though increasing wind shear is expected to keep the heaviest downpours mostly offshore and weaken the system.
Located roughly 110 miles southeast of New Orleans early Wednesday morning with expected impacts with a minimum of 2 to 4 inches of rain with isolated higher totals, gusty winds, and minor coastal storm surge. The City has responsed as best it can, activating Level II emergency operations, while the Sewerage & Water Board readied drainage pumps.
