Seattle’s leftie-loonie new Mayor Katie Wilson admitted she was wrong to slam Starbucks and push for a boycott of the mega-coffee chain birthed in the now-dying City. Wilson, 43, issued a terse 'mea culpa' (that's Latin for 'My Bad') to the New York Times this week as questions swirl about whether the liberal Northwest city can attract and retain businesses, including Starbucks, which recently chose to expand its footprint in Tennessee.
The democratic socialist made waves last fall when she joined a barista union rally as mayor-elect and expressed her disgust with one of Seattle’s most recognizable businesses.
It's now estimated that between 35 and 40% of all - commercial and residential - buildings in Seattle are now vacant. That's a sinking ship that can't turn itself around, and it's well deserved. Fuck 'em...

So yesterday afternoon it was rainin' a bit and I was bored so I'm scrolling through shit on my tablet out in the lanai, and I come across some promo for ChatGTP. The ad says it can make me in to an action figure, and I thinks to myself I thinks 'Yeah, Action Jackson - that's me alright, so I uploads this pic I had on there:
Yeah - that's me, and yeah - that's in the lanai behind our house, so yeah - I upload that pic, and like two minutes later, they show me this - which, by the way, is my new Facebook and Instagram profile pic. This shit is scary funny.
That's fuckin' nuts, ain't it? Too funny...

Go ten minutes outside any town, city or village in Ireland and you'll start seeing structures like that. They have a thing over there that they just don't knock down these old houses, some of which are as much as 250 years old, like this one next to my brother's cottage in Donegal County, overlooking the Gweebarra River.
I know the guy who lives next door to the cottage - cool dude named Mick who doesn't actually appear to do anything for a living. Anyway, that land has been in Mick's family's name for over 200 years - or so he says. Kinda neat, ain't it?

Until 1956, French schoolchildren were commonly served wine, beer, or cider at lunch, sometimes up to half a liter a day. Alcohol was seen as nutritious, safer than water in some areas, and even beneficial for digestion and health. Many parents supported the practice and sent bottles with their children.
The ban for children under 14 was introduced by Pierre Mendès France, who promoted public health and replaced wine with milk in schools. Older students were still allowed small amounts with parental consent. Alcohol was fully banned from all French schools in 1981 under François Mitterrand, ending a practice that now feels unthinkable.

This is exactly how word speards of these 'Pop-up parties' the Usual Suspects have been pulling off of late. This notice gave a big heads-up to the Point Pleasant PD. Their new tactics include stationing cops at the PP train station and carding and wanding every kid that gets off the train. The NJ Transit North Jersey Coastline is how the vast majority of these little dooshbags get down the shore from the shit-hole cities up north like Newark and Jersey City.

Not me - the hotter the better. After ten years of living in the Carribbean, I think my blood thinned enough that I can tolerate even Vegas in the summer. Because we're dead-nuts in the middle of the State here, there are no ocean-cooling effects to be felt.
In 11 years being here, I have seen it go as high as 112 degrees late in the day, and I was still kinda okay with it. I have friends here who keep their AC at 70 all summer. You could hang fucking meat in their living rooms. We keep ours set at 82 all summer. Imagine that.

A crescent-shaped beach in Hawaii that’s immersed in greenery and facing an island just offshore is the best beach in the US. So says coastal scientist Stephen P. Leatherman, better known as “Dr. Beach.” Poipu Beach on the island of Kauai tops the list for 2026, which he compiles based on 50 individual criteria. The No. 2 beach, according to Leatherman’s annual ranking, is St. Andrews State Park in Panama City, Florida.

No more Schlitz no problem, I'm going back to Rheingold.
ReplyDeleteThe list is bullshit. All of them are liberal cities; not a conservative city in the list.
