At what point are they going to stop these idiot tree-huggers from banning everything?

We kept asking how stupid it was when they ban plastic bags but not all the shit they sell in the stores, right? Well, ask and ye shall fuckin' get it up the ass, Skippy. Here they go going after the wrappers and the containers. A sweeping New York State recycling bill calls for scores of companies to stop using plastic wrap when packaging products, which critics gripe could leave crucial everyday items such as diapers and toilet paper soggy.
The proposed Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act would require companies with net income exceeding $5 million that sell or distribute certain materials and products to reduce and phase out 'toxic or non-reusable packaging', replacing it with 'reusable and environmentally friendly alternatives'.
Other states have similar green-packaging programs, including Maryland, Maine, Oregon, Colorado, California and Minnesota, and some countries employ them, too.
“New York State must follow suit to meet the moment for environmental accountability,” said the memo justifying the legislation sponsored by state Assemblywoman Deborah Glick (D-Manhattan) and state Sen. Peter Harckham (D-Peekskill). Of course it's dimwitted Dimorats. No sane/normal person could come up with stupid shit like this.

“This legislation shifts the onus of recycling and waste hauling for packaging from municipalities and residents and ensures that producers of products are serving our interests by establishing solutions to sustainable packaging,” the memo said.

The price might actually be lower. Take a look.

  1. Good. I am all for it. I can't wait to see how many companies decide it's not worth doing business in the state under this law. Too much spoilage and risk of lawsuits from customers.

    1. No, no, NO! We have to sustainable and eco-friendly.
Dip them in honey and wax! (Like the Mahdi did with Gordon's couriers in "Khartoum".)

  3. Just do away with packaging altogether folks. Stamp a bar code on the outside of every roll and stack it onto shelfs so every roll can be exposed to everything and everyone not he grocery - let the serfs in these states have what they voted for.

  4. In Maine. They called the law for eliminating free plastic grocery bags “ the single use bag law”. Well I’m here to tell you they eliminated the most multi use bag on the planet!

  5. If the tree huggers want to ban plastic wrap on toilet paper, toilet paper will be wrapped it in…wait for it…paper which comes from trees! When will toilet paper wrap on trees ever be reusable, it’s not like anyone will ever use toilet paper wrap as book covers. If they really want to save the planet, why don’t they just reuse the toilet paper?

  7. I'm thinking their next move will be to go after theft-prevention blister packs.

  8. The Green Weenies don't have any idea what life was like before plastics. Every food or beverage was in tin, glass or cardboard containers. Glass beverage bottles were reccycled - washed and refilled to be sold again. Items now prepackaged in plastic were sold loose or wrapped in paper or cardboard. There were no plastic bags, no plastic trays or bags for meat and produce. We had butcher paper for meat, brown paper bags for groceries and smaller paper bags for small items. Bulky purchases like clothing were wrapped in large sheets of brown paper and tied with string. Every dry goods store had a large roll of brown wrapping paper in a dispenser along with a large roll of string to wrap and tie purchases at the point of sale.
