Lightning is striking again...

This sounds poetic, which is usually your first clue it’s not science. Lightning absolutely strikes the same place multiple times. Tall buildings, towers, and anything that sticks out get hit over and over again. The phrase stuck because it sounds wise, like something you’d say while looking into the distance.
